When I came from America, the promised land of business opportunities, I started to think differently about competition. Do you believe that no two snowflakes in the whole world are alike?
Have you ever heard that no two snowflakes are alike?
Have you ever heard that no two people in the world have the same fingerprint?
This is probably easier to believe than that there is no competition in the market. But if we look into nature, we can start to think differently about competition.
Each of us is a unique being on this planet and each of us has a unique energy.
Perfect equality is impossible when it comes to natural phenomena, objects, people and events in the world. There are many variations and differences that exist at all levels.
All objects and organisms in the world are unique. Even objects that appear similar can differ genetically, structurally, chemically, physically and functionally.
Have you ever heard that identical twins could be identical?
Monozygotic twins occur when fertilisation of a single egg meets a split at the beginning of embryonic development. This means that identical twins have an almost identical genetic make-up, since they are derived from the same egg and the same sperm.
However, it is important to understand that identical twins are not exactly the same. There may be small genetic differences between them due to random mutations or other influences during embryonic development. These differences may manifest themselves in minor differences in observable physical or character traits such as hair colour, eye colour or certain character traits.
In addition, identical twins, although having a similar genetic background, may also develop different diseases or have different health problems due to different external influences, environmental factors or lifestyle differences.
So, even if identical twins are created from the same egg and the same sperm, they are not identical.
What about competition in the business world
15.4.2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana. Can you believe that in 100 years there have not been two graduates who opened the same law office and worked in exactly the same way.
Yes, of course, there is a situation where a large number of individuals, organisations or entities are competing to achieve a single goal or to obtain scarce resources such as customers, market share, business opportunities, employment, rewards or success in a particular field. This may indeed be called competition, but the important thing is that it does not hold us back, stop us, intimidate us in our ideas, our goals, but that it motivates us and drives us forward.
When there is a moment to accept the competition, to indulge it, to learn from it, then you no longer see it as competition.
Every entrepreneur/businesswoman will attract different customers to her life, to her business environment. Why? Because each one is unique.
You are in the right place at the right time doing the right thing at all times.
“I am in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing.”
